Main Street in the Village of Palmyra, New York There are 4244 sq. feet of living space in the house Three full bathrooms, and two powder rooms The lot is 1.81 acres There is a butler’s staircase and servant’s quarters Over 1300 bulbs have been planted in the yard The Garlock Company used to hold its board meetings in the basement. Names carved in to the bar are still visible and have been preserved. Greek Revival and Federal architecture Eight fireplaces, Three of which are artificial The Gables (the Victorian to the west) was built and occupied by a grand-daughter of the Beckwiths and her husband.
From the mansion, it is a short (about 1/4 mile) walk to the E.B.Grandin Press Building (located at 215 E Main Street), restaurants, Village Hall, City Park, Alvin Smith's Grave, Corner of the 4 Churches, The Garlock House, Phelps General Store, LDS Bookstore, Candy Corner Fudge Square, and more. The Sacred Grove, Temple and Smith Farm area about 2 miles from the house. The Hill Cumorah is about 5 miles from the house. The Peter Whitmer Farm is about a 45 minute drive. Harmony Pennsylvania is about a 2 Rochester is about 17 miles. And, Niagra Falls is about a 2 hour drive. We are also close to many recreational areas located throughout the Finger Lakes Region.

The Estate features beautiful settings for picnics, BBQs, family reunions, and more. Groups may rent the yard, along with use of the kitchen for gatherings. Photographers looking for a location to photograph brides, seniors, families and couples, you do need a release and permit. Contact us hourly, daily, seasonal or annual permits prices. |

This is our most popular room. The Dormer Suite is a quaint dormer with its own bathroom and entrance through the kitchen. Originally, this was the servant's quarters. It features a walk-in closet with a beautiful builtin dresser, stained glass windows, and a comfortable sitting area. When available, the dormer suite may be rented on a long-term basis. The Master Bedroom has south-facing windows that overlook the front yard. Its colonial look and feel gives you a feeling of stepping back into the 19th Century. The Large Bedroom has north-facing windows that overlook the back yard, which is equally as beautiful as the front of the estate. This room has plenty of room for families with several children, and can accomodate a few additional beds. (Inflatable mattresses available upon request.) This room shares the bathroom with the Small Dormer Rooms and the Master Bedroom. STATUS: Still available for pageant !!! |

This is the charm of the mansion. Cecil Hubbard and his wife transformed the basement into a recreation of a tavern they knew and loved in their home country of England. Although we do not allow alcoholic beverages in the mansion or on the grounds, we do allow our "Tavern" to be rented for meetings and small gatherings. There is a projection screen, and you may rent our LCD projector and or laptop computer for presentations. |

We require payment at the time of making your appointment. All reservations made during Hill Cumorah Pageant, Holiday Periods, and weekends during the months of April through October are only refundable IF we are able to rent it to someone else. Any refund will be less a 20% processing fee. If you are renting the tavern or the yard, please keep in mind there may be other guests in the house. If you want to reserve the entire house for an event, fill out the reservation form and when we contact you we will have a special rate. Special rates are also available for 7 or more consecutive nights (except at Pageant time). Rate Periods*: Jan 1, 2009 - Jan 5, 2009 - Holiday Rates *High rate periods (Pageant, Holidays, non-Winter Friday nights) are only refundable if the vacancy is filled. Any and all cancellations require a 20% penalty. Cancellations made without 48-hour (measured noon-to-noon) notice are not refundable. The retainer for your stay is due at the time of your booking the room. Rooms are booked based on first-come/first-serve as to when the payment is received. |
