About db walton
This page is about db walton, also known as D. Brent Walton. Brent is a Certified Professional Photographer and Photographic Craftsman and painter. His studio is located on Main Street in the Village of Palmyra, New York. (Visit his studio’s web site at http://www.dbwalton.com )
Brent started photography and painting at a young age. His work has won numerous awards. In 2000 he opened a portrait studio in the San Francisco Bay Area, and in 2008 he relocated his studio to Palmyra, New York. (About 17 miles east of Rochester, New York.)
In this, his on-line fine art store, you will find landscape and scenic work in ready to display forms – stretched gallery wraps, framed and matted prints, etc.
We strongly advise you order framed, matted and glazed pieces. We have found people who order framed, matted, glazed pieces directly from us save money (even over a 50% off framing coupon at a popular art chainstore.) They are also more likely to get the art on the wall instead of it sitting in a corner waiting to be damaged.
When you look at the art on this site, click on the image to go to the ordering page. You will be presented with a recommended configuration. You’re welcome to make changes (click on the “customize” option). Also, below that you will find other media options. Select what is best for your home or office.
As to size, keep in mind the size and arrangement of furniture. For example, hanging a framed print over a couch looks best if the print is at least 30 inches wide. A larger couch may justify a larger print like a 40-60″ wide print. Another example would be over a fireplace mantel. In that case you might want something around the size of the fireplace opening to balance the room.
Glazing is the glass placed over the print. We recommend matting AND glazing. Matting will keep the glass from touching the print, and the glass will protect the print from dust, mold and moisture, as well as UV protection against fading.
How It Works
This is how it works for you artists out there. Once an agreement between us is signed, you provide us with a high resolution file and a description of the work. We take it from there. When it sells, we provide you with 85% of the profit we receive. For example, if you sell a print for $1,000, and after our fulfilment house takes their cut (which includes the cost of printing), and they send us payment for $400, you would get 85% of $400 which is $340.
If your artwork doesn’t sell, we don’t make any money. If it does sell, we make a small 15% commission of the net (not the gross). In the above example, we would only keep $60 of the $400.
What did you have to do?
All you had to do is provide us with a high resolution file of your creative work and a description. That’s it.
What we will be doing?
We will be creating sample images, like this one, to promote your work on Facebook, Twitter and other channels. We also pay for the web site without asking subscription fees from you.
Could you do this yourself using the same tools?
Of course you could, however you wouldn’t be taking advantage of our already existing following. And, you would have to maintain the a web site, manage the S.E.O., and all the other work that goes along with it.
Remember, we only make a commission when your work sells.
